Ballybunion golf course pictures allow individuals to own a visual representation of a golf course that is over 100 years old. The pictures from the early years of this golf course show a much more rugged terrain than most golfers would dare play on today. The pristine fairways and greens of today simply were not available in these early years of the golf course. An early review of the course in 1897 stated the course is a rabbit warren below the village, where a golfer requires limitless patience and an inexhaustible supply of golf balls.
The first Ballybunion golf course only survived until 1898 when it finally succumbed to a lack of finances. In 1906, it reopened and has been available for play ever since. As time went by, the course was host to golf championships for female golfers, amateur golfers and eventually became a tournament site for professional male golfers as well.
Much has changed the condition of the golf course over the years as it has developed and matured into a world-class course. Recent Ballybunion golf course pictures show some of the changes made by Tom Watson, as he was made responsible for giving the course a face lift to bring it more in line with modern golf. Watsons work has been deemed a big success.
