Limited edition golf prints make it possible for people to own prints that the artist has decided only a limited number of people can own. Open edition golf prints are available for as many people to purchase as may want the prints. If the supply of open edition prints gets low, the company in charge of distributing the prints simply creates more. This increased supply of prints keeps the cost low, while prints in limited quantities are priced higher.
The cost factor of prints is based largely on the rule of supply and demand. If the supply of a product is high and the demand is high, the price of the product (in this case, prints) can remain low. If the supply is high and the demand is low, the price may drop to encourage more sales. If the supply is low and the demand is high, the price of the items can increase because people are willing to pay to have the items. As the supply gets lower, the price can go higher.
With limited edition golf prints, the supply of prints from the distributor will eventually end. When prints are no longer available from the distributor, the market for the prints determines the value of the prints. The supply of available prints changes to the number of prints people are willing sell from their own collection, driving up the price.
Verifying Limited Edition Golf Prints
Anyone who purchases limited edition golf prints needs to spend time verifying the legitimacy of the prints. This is not as important when purchasing the print from a distributor as it is when purchasing it from an individual. Find out if the print should have a specific number on it, the format of the number, whether a signature accompanies the number and if a certificate of authenticity was issued.
