Golf: Donald Ford Prints
Donald Ford prints are created out of some of his best photographic work of Scottish landscapes for thousands of people to enjoy. Donald Ford was not always a professional photographer, and actually started out as an account and football player (or soccer player, to Americans). In fact, by the time Ford earned recognition as a CPA, he was signing professional forms with the Hearts football team. He eventually played on the Scotland World Cup team in 1974.
During Fords years as a professional athlete, he continued to work in the area of accounting and eventually focused on his own accounting business when a knee injury caused him to leave football. In 1991, Ford decided it was time to leave the headaches of running his own accounting business behind and sold it. Fords newly chosen occupation was Scottish landscape photography.
Donald Ford prints were not an instant success and the artist had a difficult time selling photos for several years. A big change occurred in 1996 when Ford published his first calendar of Scottish landscapes and sold all 4,500 copies. Since that time, many books, calendars and other items put together by Ford have become quite popular. Sales of the 2004 calendar sold out with 21,000 copies being purchased.
